The Dark Knight
Have you seen it? If you haven't seen it, you are god-damn bloody insane. It's not a perfect movie, and I'm not going to pretend it's a perfect movie. There are moments when it's a little messy, but the good definitely out weighs the bad. There are scenes in this movie that just fucking blew me away. There is so much genius going on here that it's at a critical level.

And yes, Heath Ledger is amazing in it. I was never a huge fan of his, I just thought he was cute, so I'm not being biased here. But his performance manages to be both funny and scary, and you will leave the theater wanting more. And there will be parts of this movie that will leave you just staring at the screen wondering, "How were they allowed to put this in a comic book movie?" Seriously, if you are even the slightest bit curious, go see it.

To put it in words that SOME of you may find easier to understand: "It's a chain lightning crit to the head...times a thousand."

I just got home from seeing it and am still digesting. Honestly, I can still say it was an amazing movie. Christian Bale was great, but he was definitely overshadowed by Heath's performance. A character as twisted and raw as Joker should be in the spotlight, so it is not a complaint, but an affirmation that things were the way they should be.

I don't think I have ever been so creeped out while simultaneously laughing at something oddly funny. It is rare that anything on a movie screen can put me on edge. Heath really is up there with Jack Nicholson, though to rank the two on the same scale would be comparing apples and oranges. The two movies are simply too far apart, and the two Joker's, too different.

I just happened to turn on the television last night and the Time Burton Batman movie was on. It was almost the end, so I just watched it. And I gotta say, after seeing "The Dark Knight", I just found Jack Nicholson so...blah. I mean, you really are correct that you can't compare the two because they are two completely different movies. But still, I just wasn't getting anything out of it, all I saw was Jack Nicholson looking really uncomfortable in a big purple coat and lots of make-up.
