Life is constantly messy and unorderly these days, it seems. So, I'm trying to find little ways to get a bit more structure going on with my habits. My new thing is finding time to just do free sketches on my tablet laptop. It's a lot less messy than paper and I love to just go crazy and scribble all over the screen...it feels so dirty and wrong!
Anyway...I just do one quick sketch after another and then delete them, I don't spend more than 5 minutes on any one sketch. It's more of a nice way to unwind than anything, but it does get my creative mind to come back for a little bit between constant retail retardedness and never-ending homework.
So, I save any sketches that I am feeling at the moment and I'll be posting one a week just to sort of remind myself to keep finding time to do free sketches. I think I'll just do it every Sunday. Anyway...here's this week's entry: It's Amphibiaboy.
Oh, and it's done in Corel Painter X in colored pencils, just fyi.

Hey it's holiday season you hookers! Ya know what that means??? If you said fur protesters outside of my workplace then you are CORRECT! Oh also, there are lights on everything downtown. Though I am quite fond of the lights...they give me that slightly high feeling when I am actually sober. It's also time to start thinking about buying everyone presents. Yes, yes the economy is bad and wah, wah, wah. But, if I, a measly retail whore, can afford presents for my friends and family then so can other people. I mean...except for like the REAL poor people. You know who I'm talking about. Come on, don't make me say it. OK fine, HOMELESS PEOPLE! Yes, they are like, actually poor and stuff. So, they are exempt from buying me presents this year. But, everyone else in the world...here is what I want for Xmas:

So, I got my Absentee Ballot in the mail yesterday. I can't believe it's finally voting time! This whole campaigning/bullshit season has really been a strange trip. For me, it's been a little hard to really gauge what the candidates are really trying to do. They mostly seemed to be talking about each other the whole time. But, honestly I don't expect any miracles from any candidate for President. It would be nice to instantly have a strong economy and gay marriage...but it ain't gonna happen. I'm over it, you should be too.
But, what you should be excited about is the idea of finally having a non old white guy in office. I would really like someone who is a little more in touch with things that are happening in America...and not just with money. And Obama seems to be pretty knowledgeable and current with his ideas. Honestly, back before all of the candidates were chosen, I thought that putting Obama on the ticket would be an instant lose for the Democrats. I was, of course, basing that assumption totally on his race. That was because I thought there were far too many old racist people still alive and voting in America. But, it looks like maybe Obama actually got enough young people interested to vote. Because we all know that the old people are still out their voicing their horribly racist opinions...we've all seen the videos. But, despite that Obama is still ahead in the National Poll: Obama 48.5% McCain 41.6%
So, maybe...just maybe things will work out for the best. If not, you're welcome to visit me in Denmark any time you like.

OK, it is now past 8am...that means it's 11am on the east coast and yet STILL no Mega Man 9 to download. Why in the fuck would it not be available to download at midnight or even first thing in the morning? When the hell does Nintendo think is a reasonable time to add content? 9pm?

My poor Wii has been neglected as of late. What little time I've had for gaming lately has been WoW PTR or Person 3 FES on my PS2. And really I've mostly just been doing homework and working. But tonight I am going to download all of the Virtual Console games that I've been wanting! That's right....ALL of them! That includes Mega Man 9, which according to ign.com will be available at midnight tonight. So, I get to do a midnight launch for a game from home! What an awesome society we have.
As we speak I am downloading "Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People: Episode One". After that it's "Samurai Showdown 2" and "Ninja Combat" (both Neo Geo games) and then it's Mega Man 9 launch time! If you don't know Mega Man 9, then you don't know me! You don't know nuttin!
I'll post my impressions tomorrow.

I started my new job in retail today. I have to commute downtown. So, I have to get up earlier, commute to work, make it to the gym, commute home, and do homework. Unfortunately, I have to sleep at some point too. So, that leaves about 3 hours for homework. I've said it once and I'll say it again: commuting sucks.
Here's the thing: I used to live downtown and I wish I could afford to do it again. But, it looks like I'm stuck where I'm at. And probably for another year. I mean, I'll save money if I stay here...but I just don't think I can do it. I really need more time for school, and I am also kinda worn out on the idea of having 4 roommates and never any food in the house. So, basically if I want to move I have to come up with money for a deposit and most likely first and last month's rent within...3 months. Any ideas?
PS: No, porn is not an idea.
PSS: I mean unless it's really good porn that pays a lot and there is some sort of Channing Tatum lookalike starring in it.

It was the end of the work day and I had just locked the door behind the last employee. I was in the bank by myself and about to change into my "bike" shoes, when my phone rang. It was the woman who I was waiting to call me with a pay offer for a job! She offered me roughly 30% more than what I'm making now! So...I took it! Hell yeah I took it, my current job sucks donkey farts!
OK, so my new job is going back to retail, but I don't care because all I need right now is more money. I'm in school, so the job I have while I'm in school really doesn't matter all that much. As long as I'm working toward a goal and living comfortably I'll be peachy.
Oh, and the part about the day that was even MORE awesome! I got home and both of the packages I was expecting were here! I got my new digital camera and my new slim white PS2! So now I have even more games to play and I will make sure to get lots of awesome pics at PAX this weekend! YAY! GO ME!

Thank you to everyone for coming out to my birthday bash. It was definitely a big success and I had a lot of fun! I will try to get pics ASAP...and fyi my boy scout look is total win! I had a lot of fun rockin my temporary new look. Too bad I work at a bank so I can't do anything fun. Hopefully that will be remedied soon! Oh and new tattoo coming soon!

I was walking last night and saw a street poster that informed me that Goldfrapp was coming back to the Showbox next month. If anyone is interested, I would very much like a ticket for my birthday...which happens to be Friday.

OK, so I started a new work out regimine yesterday. Yeah, I'm a little sore, and it's only gonna get worse, but I'll deal. It's about time that I changed my work out habits. I mean, all I'm doing right now is getting fatter and I'm really upset about that. A little trip to the Can Can really helped me to get more motivated, that's for sure. After watching a shirtless buff guy with eyeliner on doing acrobatic tricks while hanging from chains...ya know, ya start feeling like a fucking ball of Crisco.
Plus, my birthday is quickly approaching, so that doesn't help either.
So, mark my words, by my next birthday (aka gay death) I'll be looking much better. Oh and who wants to go to the Tattoo Expo with me?

Have you seen it? If you haven't seen it, you are god-damn bloody insane. It's not a perfect movie, and I'm not going to pretend it's a perfect movie. There are moments when it's a little messy, but the good definitely out weighs the bad. There are scenes in this movie that just fucking blew me away. There is so much genius going on here that it's at a critical level.
And yes, Heath Ledger is amazing in it. I was never a huge fan of his, I just thought he was cute, so I'm not being biased here. But his performance manages to be both funny and scary, and you will leave the theater wanting more. And there will be parts of this movie that will leave you just staring at the screen wondering, "How were they allowed to put this in a comic book movie?" Seriously, if you are even the slightest bit curious, go see it.
To put it in words that SOME of you may find easier to understand: "It's a chain lightning crit to the head...times a thousand."
